Abby K. Cannon AM PM
"To me, wellness is all about having super healthy habits that create a foundation of health," Abby K. Cannon, founder of Abby's Food Court tells Sage & Sound. "With a healthy foundation, you feel good and capable of achieving what you want in life. The goal isn’t to be healthy; it’s to be healthy so that you can live and enjoy your life to the fullest. Knowing what healthy habits make you feel good enables you to maintain your health even during stressful times. When there are hiccups or you feel “off,” you know that you’ll always return to your healthy baseline quickly and feel good again."
I absolutely love that I start my day without looking at my phone. I leave it downstairs and don’t touch it until after I’ve breastfed my baby. It enables me to be totally present with him in the first few moments sacred moments of the day.
Once I’m downstairs, I do about 10 minutes of movement while the coffee is brewing. Sometimes it’s a 10-minute yoga flow through the Deliciously Ella App or on my own. Sometimes it’s a short Kait Hurley class. Sometimes it’s just lying on my back breathing. I get on my mat and whatever I do counts! Any movement floods my body with endorphins to set me up for the day.
Then, it’s coffee and breakfast time. I’ve been throwing a tsp of MUD\WTR into my coffee along with my homemade coconut milk creamer. Adding the MUD\WTR is helping me try to cut back on how much caffeine I have. No matter what, we sit down and have breakfast together as a family. I must admit that these mornings are my favorite time of day.
As soon as the baby is asleep, I slowly wash my face with Naturopathica’s Manuka Honey Cleansing Balm. It’s such a luxurious face wash and I always find myself slowing down to enjoy the otherwise mundane process of washing my face. Then I apply Indie Lee CoQ-10 toner and Squalane Facial Oil. Nothing feels better than preparing for bed with a clean and moisturized face. Then, right before I turn the lights out, I’ve been using my Elvie pelvic floor trainer. It’s helping me repair my pelvic floor post-giving birth to my baby, which is giving me the confidence to be more active!
