We are delighted to introduce Rebecca, known as Cardsy B, an intuitive tarot reader and energy alchemist who has transformed her lifelong passion into a guiding light for many. From her early days in rural Pennsylvania, where she saved her allowance to buy astrology books and tarot decks, Rebecca’s journey led her through a successful career in fashion, working with global brands like Donna Karan, Nike, and Playboy. Despite her professional achievements, she felt a deep disconnect from her true self and purpose. A pivotal period of personal transformation inspired her to embrace her intuitive gifts fully, leading to the creation of the Badass Bitches Tarot Deck and the award-winning podcast, Hex and the City. Now, as she joins Sage + Sound, Rebecca proudly leads Exploring Tarot in The Study, combining astrological insights, rituals, and intuitive guidance to help individuals connect with their inner knowing and healing abilities. As we approach the new year, Rebecca shares how tarot can serve as a powerful tool for reflection, growth, and setting inspired intentions.
Can you share a bit about your background and how you got into Tarot?
I grew up in rural Pennsylvania, near Amish country. My interest in astrology and Tarot started early—I was saving my allowance to buy books and decks by the time I was 10 or 11. I taught myself how to read Tarot back then, and it felt like a strong intuitive connection, almost like I had been doing it for lifetimes.
My professional path actually started in fashion. I worked for brands like Donna Karan, Nike, and Playboy, climbing the executive ladder. It wasn’t until I went through significant life changes that I decided to focus on Tarot full-time. I realized how powerful it was as a healing tool—for myself and others. That’s when I began offering one-on-one sessions, launched my podcast, and even created my own Tarot deck.
What an inspiring shift. As the new year approaches, how can people use Tarot for self-reflection and setting intentions?
Tarot is an amazing tool for gaining clarity and understanding the cycles in your life. Numerologically, the upcoming year aligns with the Hermit card, which is all about introspection and completion. It’s an invitation to pause, reflect on what’s no longer serving you, and prepare for new beginnings. This year is about wrapping up old cycles to make room for fresh, innovative starts.
Can Tarot help with setting New Year’s resolutions?
Absolutely! It can guide you intuitively, helping you uncover what intentions truly align with your path. With the upcoming Pluto transit from Capricorn to Aquarius, we’re moving from a focus on individual achievement to collective healing and service. This shift offers powerful opportunities for personal and community growth.
That’s so fascinating. How do you help beginners engage with Tarot?
No prior knowledge is necessary to benefit from a Tarot session or class. I always start with astrological perspectives to provide context and guide participants in finding intuitive connections with the cards. I also incorporate rituals and give “homework” exercises to help people engage with the process meaningfully.
You also offer group classes at Sage + Sound through your Exploring Tarot class in The Study. How is that experience different from one-on-one readings?
Group classes are such a unique and powerful experience. They provide an energetic overview that resonates with everyone in the room, but there’s also space for individuals to share and connect. It creates a sense of community and mutual understanding that’s really special. I’m so excited to bring this work to Sage + Sound. Whether it’s through group classes or one-on-one sessions, Tarot is such a powerful tool for reflection, intention-setting, and growth.
