AM/PM: Tarot Cards, Ukuleles, & Your Next Favorite App: Meet Ashley Sumner

Ashley Sumner is the Founder and CEO of Quilt, a social network for supportive conversations that leave you feeling better than you came. So who better to spill the tea with?

What does “wellness” mean to you?

To me, wellness is a space where my mind and body feel balanced, clear, and supported.

What is something you do every day to help maintain a spirit of wellness?

I take long walks, I play music (just bought a ukulele), and pull tarot cards.

How does wellness intersect with your work life?

My role at Quilt revolves around building community and deepening connection to others, which I believe is a form of wellness and self-care so I am lucky that I get to do that every day.

AM

I start my mornings by making a smoothie with Four Sigmatic Protein Blend and pulling a tarot card from one of my favorite decks, The Fountain Tarot. Then, I either go for a run or walk in my On Running shoes. And, I've started using Quilt and it has had such a positive effect on my mental health and starting my day. I get to hear people's voices from all over the country and listen to how they are.

PM

As I'm winding down from my day, I try to stop looking at any screens and read poetry. Lately, I've been reading a lot by Kahlil Gibran. I take nightly baths with Dr. Teal's epsom salts and lavender oil, and use Waleda on my face and body. When I go to sleep, I always wear my eye mask from Lunya.
